Never Mind the Fact That We Used An Easter Tablecloth Today

Today’s entry is short and sweet. I just revisited my Thanksgiving post from last year and it still stands. I have a special place in my heart for Thanksgiving because it serves as the prelude to the holiday season. As the overture to the grand production at the end of each year. And we all know how much I love overtures and grand productions.

Still, I want to say a quick thank you for several things. So, as I said at my own Thanksgiving Day table at my own home today …

“I am thankful for my family and my many friends. I am thankful for not having any kind of bizarre health crisis hanging over me this year. And I am very thankful for the many people who stepped up to carry me last year. Also, I am thankful to have found a writing outlet for myself right here. It really helps to keep my head together. Or so I think.”

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Your readership means a lot to me. I hope your hearts (and stomachs) are as full as mine is right now.

And, Mel, since I keep forgetting to promote our new project, I’m going to do it right now. My friend, Mel at, and I are co-authoring a semi-monthly parenting column at So far, we’ve had two articles published. So, I guess I’m thankful for that, too. 🙂

  1. You make my day brighter each time I see a new post. I’m so glad I have an awesome friend like Mel. She led me to you. You guys make a great team, and gave me the balls I needed to get out and write something. Might not be great, but I love the challenge. Gobble gobble!

  2. We used a paper table cloth yesterday that had coloring activities, word finds and tic-tac-toes on it (from Target). Turned out that it was more popular with the adults. 🙂

Thanks for posting! And I’m thankful for your friendship…and all that silliness that brings. I don’t have any dog or cat treats to leave you in your comments like you leave in mine. But I do have leftover Champagne cheese Chris’ aunt brought over yesterday. Open your mouth…let’s see how many you pieces you can catch. 😛

  3. We did have a tablecloth yesterday because I forgot to buy one!! I did however use the extra paper plates from my daughter’s birthday party for dessert!! Classy!!! My Grandmother is rolling over in her grave!! I love your blog Michele! Just the right amount of snark and dumbassery to always make me laugh!! 🙂

  4. I’m just wowed that you have an Easter tablecloth–that is impressive 🙂 I can barely get it together enough to have one for every day! And happy holiday season–I’m so excited it is here too 🙂

  5. I am thankful for #KetchupWithUs. I love these prompts!

  6. I am thankful that you make me laugh every week! I hope you had a very good Thanksgiving. And congrats on the Manilla gig- that is awesome!
