For my weekly stab at satire, I wrote this third and final entry for the Trifextra Weekend Challenge. Here are the bloody rules – Entrants must write a horror story in 33 words exactly, without the words blood, scream, died, death, knife, gun or kill. But enough with the gory details. This contest slays me. I hope I don’t beat it to death. Waiting ’til Monday for the results will be murder.

Trifextra Entry #3 – Curiosity Killed the Chat

“What’s your plan?”
“Don’t know.”
“What about ‘bludgeon?'”
“Fine.”
“‘Axe?’ ‘Chainsaw?’ ‘Hook?'”
“All FINE!“
“Dude, there’s lots of words left.”
“Not anymore.”(WHACK! … THUD!…) (spoken to camera) “I’m gonna need a bigger post.”

LOLOLOL
Your “smartass collection” makes me giggle . Very clever.
My dad showed me and my big bro that movie one night after my mom went out to dinner with friends. I was 8 and my bro was 9. To this day he’ll say he still doesn’t know what he was thinking. When my mom found out he was in BIG trouble. My 8 year old mind was scared CRAPLESS and I did not take a bath (only showers far far away from the drain), swim in the deep end of the pool or go in the ocean for almost two years after that. I still get anxious going in the ocean…especially if someone has a yellow float. Ahhh, memories. 😛
I still don’t swim in open waters. At all. Ever. Totally serious. Speaking of which, also don’t see ‘Open Water.’
Yes, saw it. Ditched on the movie half way through.
I’m with you. I’ll only go up to my calves at most and that’s just to jump waves with the kids.
So I guess me teaching you to surf is out of the question?
You really seem to have it in for people who are unduly gabby, whether pillow talk or otherwise! 🙂
What can I say? I like to cut to the chase.
I loved this! I love your takes on these prompts. Just to chime in, I hated ‘Open Water’. It scared the crap out of me. I am going to worry for the rest of my life with my children being in open water.
Love the title on this one!
I saw “Jaws” as a child and it scared the wits out of me. I’m not a fan of oceans either. I watched one of those nature discovery shows with my son recently and found out there are fresh water sharks, too. Looks like lakes, streams and rivers are a no-go, too.
Damn it! Really??
