That’s right. We’re talking about hugs today. How simple is that? And when I say “we,” I mean my friend, Mel and me. And when I say “hugs” I mean one of the cutest little innoventions to hit the shelves lately.
Introducing the Embracelet
Created by two enterprising moms, this special bracelet was designed to promote and encourage positive interactions with your kids and other loved ones. There are twenty-five beads on the bracelet and the wearer is challenged to have a special moment (hugs, smiles and other little acts of love) with their little people before each day is done. The ladybug clip moves over one bead for each of these daily milestones.
About a month ago, Embracelet creators Tina and Lisa (huggabuggakids.com) contacted Mel and me about doing a review on our blogs … which meant we each got one of these cute little things. (Yay!)
Anyone who knows me at all knows that this kind of jewelry is right up my alley. Case in point: Also pictured is my 10-year anniversary band from Marie Laveau’s Voodoo Shop right here in New Orleans. It was $10. Dave has no idea how lucky he is. But I digress …
The bracelet … excuse me, I mean the EMbracelet is precious. It’s got a nice weight to it and each clear bead is dimpled to give it a little texture. And the pewter ladybug is just adorable. The whole thing is very sturdy and well-made.
But, Michele, does it work?
Honestly? YES! It has made me stop and appreciate not only my kids but also my husband, my family and my friends. And (gulp) you know what I realized? I don’t EVER have twenty-five meaningful moments with my loved ones in a given day. (My bracelet should probably have black beads and a stink bug on it.) So, I’m working on it. Who among us can’t use a little self-improvement, right?
And that’s why I’m giving YOU the same chance! Mel and I both are actually. Just tell me in the comments below why you want an Embracelet of your very own. We’ll each be randomly drawing a name from our commenters. For those impaired mathematically, that means we’ll have TWO winners. So, get cracking! The deadline for entry is noon on February 1st!
I remember to appreciate my girl everytime I see my wedding ring.
(Which is constantly.)
Me! Me! Me! I want one!!!!! Please! I’ll be your best friend! Wait. I already am one of your best friends! Even though you claim I’m “weird”! 😉
I love, love, love this. Did I mention I loved this? A great reminder for ME and my daughter.
Me, me, me, please!! It is a cute bracelet and it is free!! On a serious note, I do miss my family who all live in sunny, warm Florida while I am freezing my ass off in Maryland! 😦
I don’t have kids, and thus I feel discrminated against for this contest. Therefore, I should win simply based on legal grounds. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why you want an Embracelet of your very own: I have a teenager *and* a toddler – I need all the help I can get to not go three kinds of bat-shit crazy every day. Sometimes twice a day. Recently, more like eleventy times a day. 😀
I suppose this bracelet could help me spread the hugs more equally among my two kids (ages 2 & 3) and my hubby. Oooo or maybe I can just start early on the dreaded “mom is trying to hug me again” phase all kids go through!
Excellent. I like your thinking, Gina. You’re going to use the embracelet for good AND evil. Nice work. 🙂
I love your review! Thanks for stopping by my site, I appreciate it.
PS: Site name = pure awesomeness.
I love this! It’s cute and I think it would help me slow down a bit and make sure I am showing my husband and son enough love and attention. I tend to be a person who is always rushing and looking towards the next thing instead of being in the moment.
Yep. You took the words right out of my mouth. Good luck!
How adorable! (You AND the bracelet). Did I just get some extra points for that? No? Ok, that’s cool. Seriously, though, the Embracelet would be a reminder for me to slow down and focus on the little moments that make my heart smile instead of the aggravating ones. If, of course, my 6 year old would share it with me. 🙂
I would give it to my 6 year old, who would actually love it, and tell HIM that for every one bit of ridicule, or stupidity, or all out ass-holiness (minus the word) that is projected towards him, there are 25 awesome things that he has that never in a million years could those kids doing things to him would EVER possess.
This would be a huge help for myself and my son. He’s 3 and has an eating disorder. (Very complicated to explain in a comment box). Meal times have become a battle field with a lot of shouting and tears. It would be great to slow down and take the time to give each other hugs instead of all of the shouting and struggle. What a great way to help us get back on track!
The Embraclet would be a great gift to help my daughter ,the new mom, help her son adjust to daddy getting dress to leave for work.. he is starting to cry as soon as dad get out of the shower monday through Friday Thanks for the opportunity , with love Sandi
I 💓 it !!!! Entering even though I never win anything
I love it so even though I never win anything, I’ll enter
